so for our anniversary, we took a little trip to washington for our fall break.  it was great fun!  we enjoyed touring around the national mall.  we visited lincoln’s summer home and ford’s theater.  we also visited robert e. lee’s home at arlington, ate at some really good places and went to capitol hill baptist church.  we stayed at the westin, right around the corner from the russian embassy.  i worked on my parallel parking  skills.  we also escaped near death when the fire alarm went off at 6:30 am in our hotel- well to be honest it was a false alarm, but it scared me half to death.  it also happened to be national equality march-protest “don’t ask, don’t tell”-GLBTQ fun week, it made for some interesting scenery. and i saw a black squirrel.

well today is our two year anniversary and i just want to say happy anniversary to the best husband ever! (: we went out to dinner to maggiano’s tonight and are now back at home writing papers (at least that’s what i’m supposed to be doing but as you can see i’m updating our blog). andy surprised me tonight and told me that this weekend we will be heading to washington dc for a 3 day 2 night stay at the westin hotel in downtown dc! it is our fall break all next week so we will be able to get away from the hustle and bustle of charlotte and school life and hopefully relax some! we have been wanting to go to dc for a while now and i am so excited to be able to get away and celebrate a wonderful two years of marriage together. don’t worry, i’ll post pictures from our trip in, oh i don’t know, about 5 months (: kiiiidding

1 1/2 year anniversary cake (:

so Ashley Cakes is who made our wedding cake (which we loved and would suggest to anyone!) however, i don’t even remember what our cake tasted like because i’m pretty sure all that andy shoved in my mouth was icing. well, thank goodness ashley cakes is so amazing and actually makes you a cake for your anniversary, which is included in the price of your wedding cake, so you don’t have to eat that frozen junk that is a year old (although my mom did try and serve our frozen wedding cake to numerous guests throughout the year.) anyways, we weren’t on the ball for our year anniversary cake so we decided we’d celebrate our year and a half anniversary for the sake of the cake! here are some pics (: (not shown: our yummy dinner at kanki! can you believe andy hadn’t been there since his one and only visit for his 6th grade field trip?!)

Keep me, for I cannot keep myself.”

This comes from one of my favorite books, Valley of Vision.  I hope to walk worthy of His love.

So this is Christmas…

well here we go (: entering the blog world right as we enter december. what!? it’s already december??? that’s just crazy. ok so we got our tree last night and the way we got it was a little sketchy. we went to this christmas tree place out on six forks and the lights were on but there was no one in sight (it was only 8 oclock for crying out loud) so we looked around a bit and we saw a sign that said “honor system, place money here, write on envelope what you bought…blah blah blah” we were like this is strange. but after a series of events we decided that that tree store had the tree that we couldn’t live without. so andy and i took the tree off the stake, put it in the netting, and started to put in on top of the car. as i was getting the money ready i noticed that the sign for ”honor system” was for the pumpkin patch. there were no pumpkins around. however at this point there was no turning back. we, and by we i mean andy, put the tree on top of the jeep and right as he was tying it down we, as in me, since i’m overly paranoid and ALWAYS looking for things like this, noticed that there were cameras watching us this whole time. eek! with all this being said we have one beautiful christmas tree and probably one big warrant out for our arrest, all for the sake of Christmas! isn’t it pretty? (:
